My NaNo, The Thermidor Cycle, is an alternate-universe version of the latter days of the French Revolution. In this timeline, the Thermidorian Reaction fails and Maximilien Robespierre dissolves the National Convention before proclaiming himself Regent of France. After five years under the Reign of Terror and the Republic of Virtue, Napoleon Bonaparte leads a populist rebellion against the Incorruptible. Overwhelmed by the threats arrayed against him, Maximilien descends into darkness and paranoia. Supporting characters include Eleonore Duplay, Antoine Saint-Just, Georges Couthon, and Philippe Le Bas. I am so excited to be writing this story - I am a complete Robespierre fangirl, and I've wanted to get this down on paper for months now!

I'm quite curious actually: What the fuck would one have to be smoking to come to the conclusion that any of that is in character? Why is it that self-proclamed "fangirls" never seem to have a clue as to the nature of what they're fangirling? Or is that part of the deal now? WTF, seriously. D:<
