This movie is really going to suck. Muchly.

Apparently the People are reduced to the stereotypical "angry mob" so if the average viewer does not like barbie-pink!Antoinette, they'll have little choice in sympathies, because she and the rest of the Court will be the only human characters.

It's a lot easier for most people to sympathize with one person, even if she is the most annoying bimbo they have ever seen, than a "mob" with a good reason to be angry!

That said, from what I can tell, Liberation is treating this with irony, and seems to be pointing out that the subject matter is somewhat....irrelevant: big surprise there!
...at any rate, it's not a positive review, and I like the publication overall, so...

Probably. And no one will scream at us for it, because Marat has no rabid fangirls or fanboys. At least, I don't think so.

I am vaguely tempted to try and draw a poster for it now. With sickening pink font. XD

Well that one historian, Massin tried to do the same rehabilitation for Marat as was (and is being) done for Robespierre, so presumably he has some fans...

I'll try. I doubt it will look good, since I can't draw Marat at all. Oh well. I can blame my artistic shortcomings on the desire to be trendy and connect with modern audiences.

You don't have to; I don't see how you could without distorting someone's character. Although, it would undoubtedly be amusing.

Possibly, but I think it would be difficult to create a self-insert!Marat....not to mention highly disturbing.
