montagnarde1793More picspam! ...Don't you just feel SO lucky? I've managed to scan the rest, but I won't be posting them all this time around, because there are so many. You will, however, see such strange and varied objects ans a FdlES!fan and a Maxime!pipe. And yes, daughtermestizo, you will finally get to see what Charlotte looked like.

Pfft...Carnot. Still, it's got other, more important people in it. (...Some of whom look happier than they ought, considering the company and the times.)
It's really a pity that top one turned out so small, since it's one of my favorites....If anyone wants to see it closer, I can do that.
And there, is the pipe (along with other random items). That lock of hair is in the Musée Carnavalet, by the way, so I've seen it in person.
Same questions as last time--I know you can do it!

Date: Tuesday, 13 June 2006 23:23 (UTC)Well, as far as Eléonore's concerned, the engagement might have been only rumored, but as rumors go it's fairly well supported, since, among other people, her sister and Maxime's doctor both seem to think so. The only person who specifically mentions it and denies it is Charlotte, who says herself that she can't stand the Duplays. So yes, it perhaps shouldn't be put down as absolute fact, but there are certainly less likely historical conjectures.
...I highly doubt Maxime would smoke a pipe. It seems rather...out of character. But apparently somebody thought his face needed to adorn one--and if they want to be amusing I'll not stop them.
