This movie is really going to suck. Muchly.

Apparently the People are reduced to the stereotypical "angry mob" so if the average viewer does not like barbie-pink!Antoinette, they'll have little choice in sympathies, because she and the rest of the Court will be the only human characters.
It's a lot easier for most people to sympathize with one person, even if she is the most annoying bimbo they have ever seen, than a "mob" with a good reason to be angry!
That said, from what I can tell, Liberation is treating this with irony, and seems to be pointing out that the subject matter is somewhat....irrelevant: big surprise there!
...at any rate, it's not a positive review, and I like the publication overall, so...

Date: Monday, 29 May 2006 23:49 (UTC)November? I thought it was coming out in October...
And besides, how is that a good thing? It gives the media longer to hype it!

Date: Monday, 29 May 2006 23:50 (UTC)True, but it also gives us longer to prepare.

Date: Monday, 29 May 2006 23:51 (UTC)Prepare what, a frontal assault?

Date: Monday, 29 May 2006 23:53 (UTC)Or something like that.
OMSBICON! Who is it??(no subject)
Date: Monday, 29 May 2006 23:57 (UTC)*smirks* I'm sure we'll think of something.
It's Maxime and Eleonore from La Terreur et la Vertu. The line is the actual line he said at that moment....the scene is really quite sad, because just at that moment Le Bas and Augustin come downstairs and we never find out what he wanted to tell her.

Date: Monday, 29 May 2006 23:59 (UTC)Correction. YOU will think of something. I'll try to counter it and be outvoted.
I knew it! *squees* Now I really want to watch! They're so cute!!

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:05 (UTC)Oh, come on; we have to do something!
They are. So very much. This movie has a very nice amount of cuteness. Unfortunately, it's a bit heavy on the sadness....oh well, I suppose it's the subject matter; it can't be helped.

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:08 (UTC)Yes, but MUST it be a frontal assault?
Awwwwwwwww. I love cuteness. But yeah, I suppose the sadness can't be helped. Poo.

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:22 (UTC)I suppose it doesn't have to be....Do you have any suggestions?
It's got very few un-upsetting parts, actually (part II, that is). Part I is less upsetting, but still...

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:32 (UTC)I imagine it would. Poor, tragic Maxime.

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:33 (UTC)*sniffs* He is rather tragic.

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:36 (UTC)Is Hérault in Part I, by any chance?
(no subject)
Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:43 (UTC)I don't remember, but he ought to be...

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:44 (UTC)I have yet to see a good Hérault-Séchelles in a movie. I couldn't find him in "Danton" and LRF's version was embarassing. He looked more like Brissot. And Brissot looked like a cross between Collot d'Herbois and someone else. Who wasn't Brissot.
(no subject)
Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:48 (UTC)...I'll look for him.
*cracks up at descriptions*

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:50 (UTC)*snickers* LRF!Brissot = Collot d'Herbois hybrid
(no subject)
Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:53 (UTC)...He does look it.

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 00:56 (UTC)Poor Brissot. He suffered enough without having to look like a Collot hybrid.
(no subject)
Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 01:01 (UTC)Brissot had some....issues, though.

Date: Tuesday, 30 May 2006 01:03 (UTC)You mean being a Girondin, for example?
